This is a great trip for the scouts.  Orienteering is a skill that is required and used throughout scouting and the rank of Eagle and life. This trip will teach the basics of compass reading, for example the orientation of a compass to a map, how to plot a course, how to determine what the individual scout pace to name a few. This program teaches a skill that is essential when hiking and on camping trips. Boy Scouts can work on completing First Class requirement #2 (orienteering).  This trip will also serve to help any other rank advancement scouts may need on a camping trip.
