"Be Prepared" for all meetings - Patrol Leaders Must Communicate!

 

10/1 PLC (Patrol Leaders Council) - 7:00 Wapping Church

 

What we're doing:

  • Discussing ideas for next month's activities.

 

What to bring:

  • At least 4 of your best ideas for future meeting and scout challenges.
     

What to wear:

  • Casual attire is acceptable.

 

 

10/1 BOR (Board of Review) - 7:00 Wapping Church

 

What you should know:

  • The skills that were required for your current rank.

  • The skills that are required and your readiness for your next rank.

  • It is also a time for you to ask any questions you might have and to give feedback to the troop committee about activities and your Scouting experience in your troop and in your patrol.

 

What to bring:

  • All scouts who are meeting to attain their next scout rank, must  bring their Scout Handbooks with them.

 

What to wear:

 Full Class A uniform (no jeans or baseball caps.  You don't have to purchase official scout pants, green matching pants are acceptable).

 

 

10/8 Meeting - 7:30 Wapping Church

 

What we're doing:

  • We will be doing mass skills testing for advancement in preparation of upcoming Court of Honor.  Scouts should be prepared to be tested on any requirements that they need to move to the next level.  You must be skilled in proving you know the requirement in order to get passed.

 

What to bring:

  • Scouts who have not attained the rank of First Class should always bring their Scout Handbooks to meetings.

What to wear:

 Full Class A uniform (no jeans or baseball caps.  You don't have to purchase official scout pants, green matching pants are acceptable).

 

 

10/15 Meeting - 7:30 Wapping Church

 

What we're doing:

  • Shakedown for the upcoming AT Campout this month.

  • Scouts should be prepared to sign out any troop gear that they will need for the campout.

  • Meal planning for the AT trip will be discussed (mostly foods that pack well, limiting perishables).

  • Equipment demo by EMS representative (tentative, parents are invited).

  • We will be doing some challenges that have to do with (proper scout) packing and readiness.

  • If time permits, some Scout Advancement

What to bring:

  • Bring all the equipment you plan to bring to a Campout to this meeting, packed in a backpack.  All scouts should bring a packed backpack, even if they are not going on the trip.

  • Scouts who have not attained the rank of First Class should always bring their Scout Handbooks to meetings.

What to wear:

 Full Class A uniform (no jeans or baseball caps.  You don't have to purchase official scout pants, green matching pants are acceptable).

 

 

10/22 Outdoor Meeting - 7:30 Nevers Park

 

What we're doing:

  • Reviewing camping skills for the upcoming AT trip.

    • Hanging bear bag.

    • Purifying water.

    • Constructing survival shelters (by patrols).

  • Demonstration of gutting and filleting a fish (by Mr. Marchessault)

  • We are inviting younger scouts and friends for a patrol challenge meeting. There will be difficult patrol competitions with scout recruits in preparation for the town-wide scouting event in November.

  • Prizes will be awarded for these competitions.

What to bring:

  • Each scout should bring their knife, compass, flashlight, whistle and some matches.

  • Each patrol should bring rope and a tarp.

  • Scouts who have not attained the rank of First Class should always bring their Scout Handbooks to meetings.

What to wear:

 Class B Uniforms (bright orange colored shirts)

 

 

10/29 Court of Honor - 7:30 Wapping Church

 

What we're doing:

This is a special ceremony where scouts are formally recognized for their rank advancements and their earning of merit badges
 

What to bring:

  • Your parents, other family members, and friends are all invited and encouraged to attend all Courts of Honor.

 

What to wear:

 Full uniform (no jeans or baseball caps.  You don't have to purchase official scout pants, green matching pants are acceptable).
