As our scouts move on, so do our parents. Our
troop is always looking for Merit Badge Counselors,
Committee Members, and Assistant Scoutmasters.

you should know:

required and your readiness for
your next rank.

It is also a time for you to ask any
questions you might have and to give feedback to the troop
committee about activities and your Scouting experience in your
troop and in your patrol.
What to
bring:

There are many scouts that are only a few
requirements away from their next rank. Scouts
that are First Class and higher will be teaching
scouting skills to the lower ranks. We will
also be testing skills to sign-off on requirements
all the way to First Class.
(Note that there are only 5
meetings before the Advancement Freeze period
begins).

Knife and Axe
Safety training for older scouts.

Hands on knife
work for older scout.

Older scouts should bring their
jackknife
(Only
Scouts with Tot’n Chit are allowed to use/hold a
jackknife).

Scouts who
have not attained the rank of First Class should
always bring their Scout Handbooks to
each troop meeting.

Scouts are being
asked to invite a friend for an informal visit.

Each scout
should bring their knife, compass, flashlight,
whistle and some matches.

always bring their Scout Handbooks to
each troop meeting.

- 4/25 Orienteering
Campout (Parents are welcome)
This is a great trip for the scouts. Troop 880 has been participating
for a numbers of years now. This program
teaches a skill that is essential when hiking and on
camping trips. Boy Scouts can complete First Class requirement #2
(orienteering) as well as many requirements
for the "Orienteering" Merit Badge. The New
England Orienteering Club hosts this competition and training program.
